Allison Puryear (rhymes with “career”) is a therapist who burned out on agency work & then built successful private practices in 3 wildly different markets. After her caseloads grew faster in each “saturated” market, Allison realized that practice building is not rocket science when you have clarity, confidence, & a figured-out formula. So, Allison started Abundance Practice Building to help other therapists build their own full & happy private practices - because a happy therapist is a better therapist, y’all!

For over a decade I have helped people heal their relationship with food and their body. I'll tell you about my professional qualifications in a moment but, first, I want you to know that I get it. Having recovered from my own eating disorder, I understand how painful it is and also what it takes to make your way out. I have walked the walk and continue put into practice everything I share with my clients. While recovery is hard, I 100% believe it is possible and worth all the effort it takes.
In session you'll find that I'm relaxed and validating while also being focused and direct. And while the things that we work on in therapy are serious, we can also have some laughs along the way!
Professionally, I have dedicated myself to becoming skilled at Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other evidence based practices. I began my career working at a comprehensive DBT clinic (Portland DBT Institute) offering DBT and specializing in treating co-occurring eating disorders. I have attended numerous trainings with Marsha Linehan, founder of DBT, as well as many top DBT trainers.
Throughout my career, I have also gained expertise in treating a wide range of eating disorders. I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and approved to provide supervision to those working towards certification. I am firmly rooted in a Health At Every Size approach and am an accomplice in fighting anti-fat bias in our culture.
